Good activewear are very important for fitness professionals as they can not only improve your enthusiasm for sports psychologically, but also better protect you functionally and make your exercise process comfortable. But how to pick the most cost-effective sportswear in the simplest way? I suggest you start with the comfort and functionality of the fabric instead of the brand and design.
Below, from perspective of fabric analysis to talk about what kind of sports clothes is our best choice.
First of all, with the development of science and technology, more and more new fabrics was born, and all kinds of advertisements dazzle everyone.
However, you must remember that no matter how profound and complex the nouns listed in the advertisements of major brands, one thing ever changed.
In a word, sportswear fabrics can be divided into two types: natural materials and synthetic materials.
- Natural materials — Cotton, bamboo, wool. (as the main fabric of clothing)
- Synthetic materials — Poly, Nylon, Rayon (as the main fabric of clothing)
- Synthetic fiber (used as a supporting role to give workout clothes the stretch)
These fabrics can be used individually or in a variety of combinations to make different types of sportswear.
How to pick the most cost-effective sportswear in the simplest way
Nowadays, women leggings manufacturer usually use synthetic material or synthetic stretchy fiber to make leggings. These clothes are stretchy and give you a feeling of tension and pressure, which is good for exercise.
Natural materials, such as cotton, are not preferred because they are much more absorbent, but sweat does not evaporate quickly if the main fabric is cotton, and you will feel wet clothes stick on your body for the rest of the workout.
Since synthetic fiber is our best choice for workout clothes. Let me give you a ranking of their comfort level: nylon > poly > rayon. In other words, for a pair of legging at the same price, if one is made of Nylon and the other is made of poly, we should definitely choose Nylon.
As for Spandex, the supporting role, now different brand teams are giving their supporting characters fancy names… Such as, Nike’s Dri-Fit, Athleta’s Lycra, and supplex, Tactel, are actually , spandex.
Below take my own leggings as examples:
Example 1 : legging from athlete
Composition: body – 75% nylon, 25% lycra spandex
Example 2: legging from nike
Composition: body – 78% nylon, 22% dri-fit spandex
Example 3: legging from jockey)
Composition: body – 95% nylon, 5% spandex
These three leggings all mixed with nylon. The prices of leggings from example 1&2 are similar and much more expensive than leggings from example 3.
As stated above, nylon is our first choice, so on this premise, we can choose according to our preference. The higher spandex is, the more elasticity and pressure on the body will be. Of course, the price will be higher.
However, in general, what kind of clothing to buy depends on personal preference.
