Peach skin velvet, also known as peach skin fabric, is a kind of imitation leather fabric developed after artificial suede products. It is a kind of thin sanding pile fabric made of superfine synthetic fiber. The surface of the fabric is covered with a special short and delicate nap. The tactile and visual sense of the fabric surface are similar to peach skin suede fabric.
The Origin of Peach Skin Fabric
After the fine sanding finishing in the dyeing and finishing process, the fabric surface is closely covered with short hair of about 0.2 mm, just like the surface of a peach. It has a novel and elegant appearance and comfortable feel, so it is favored by people. Therefore, this kind of fabric is named microfiber peach. Therefore, sanding finishing is also called “peach skin finishing”. This is the same as that of suede finishing, which was also called “suede finishing” in the past when man-made suede products were popular.
Characteristics of Peach Skin Fabric
The color is soft and natural, with texture and appearance similar to peach skin. The velvet has fine, uniform and thick hair. It seems invisible but palpable. It diffuses in many directions under the light and is very soft.
It is soft and plump, fluffy and delicate, smooth and elastic, thick and full;
It has the function of moisture absorption and air permeability, good shape retention, easy washing and quick drying.
Main Factors Affecting the Effect of Fabric Sanding
The selection of mesh number of sandpaper, the control of roller speed, the contact area between the roller and the fabric, the tension of the fabric, the times of sanding, the balance between the speed of the roller and the running speed, the moisture content of the fabric, the treatment after sanding and the selection of milling equipment.
Types of Peach Skin Fabric Weaving
Plain weave, twill weave, satin weave
Types of Peach Skin Fabric Raw Materials
Polyester, nylon polyester (may be called moss peach skin)
Function of Peach Skin Fabric
Peach skin products can be used as clothing (jackets, skirts, etc.) fabrics, can also be used as bags, shoes and hats, furniture decoration ideal materials.
Peach Skin Fabric and Suede Fabric
Peach skin and suede are imitation leather, but there are great differences between the two fabrics.
- (1)Difference in Raw Material
The raw material of peach skin velvet is polyester or polyester / polyamide composite yarn.
The raw material of suede is sea island silk.
The raw material of peach skin velvet is polyester/polyamide composite yarn. The single filament size is 0.15 ~ 0.3d. After dyeing and finishing, the fiber is opened. Due to the increase of specific surface area, the super dense fabric style is formed. The peach writing effect is formed on the surface of the fabric by sanding. Polyester nylon composite yarn can also be woven into the super absorbent towel (4 ~ 5 times of cotton), glasses cloth, filter cloth, etc.
- (2)Difference in Appearance
There is a layer of fluff on the surface of peach skin velvet fabric.
The suede has a visible fluff on the surface, and it feels much better than peach skin, and it can be made thicker.
The raw material of suede is sea-island silk with a monofilament size of 0.05~0.08D. Because the size of the monofilament is finer, the fabric has a suede effect (suede is more delicate than natural leather).
Due to the reduced fiber opening and re-dissolving of about 25% of the water-soluble polyester, shrinking fibers or shrinking treatment must be added to make the cloth surface not too loose. It was first made into suede leather with sea island short fiber, which has better performance than high-grade natural leather.
However, in 2000, Japan did not provide technology for tanning. In addition, filaments woven into cloth also have a suede effect, so suede-like fabrics became popular.
